This is the Blood Brothers third studio album and the one that kind of launched them into the sound that most people know them by. Love them or hate them, it's worth a listen.
If any of you are fans of Pretty Girls Make Graves then you will like Controller.Controller. Definitely along the same style and I really like them. Definite listen!
This is the second studio album my Pretty Girls Make Graves and it's by far my favorite. It's faster paced than the first and third albums and just a better sound overall. Hope you guys enjoy it.
Lately I've been listening to a lot of a genre that isn't mentioned a whole lot. Art Punk. Consisting of bands like: The Blood Brothers, Plot to Blow up the Eiffel Tower, These Arms Are Snakes, Kill Sadie, Pretty Girls Make Graves etc. I will be posting a lot of these bands at the start of December, I'm thinking this next month will be consisted of mostly this genre of music. Hopefully, you guys enjoy the diversity I'm trying to bring to this blog, a little abnormality if you will.
Thanks for everyone who has read and checked this blog out! The support is much appreciated and again I thank all of you! It drives me to keep this thing up to date and keep it interesting!
Here's a pretty cool video too to start all of this off..A little "artsy" time lapse I found on Youtube.
This band was short lived but pretty fucking rad. It has Jordan Blilie and Cody Votolato from the Blood Brothers. Nick Zinner from the Yeah Yeah Yeah's, and Justin Pearson and Gabe Serbian from the Locust. Definitely worth a listen if you're into the newer age of thrash/grind.
I haven't listened to much of this band, which is surprising but they are pretty good. This link is NOT mine and I give the credit to the blog Hang Over Heart Attack which you can find in my links. It's a great blog so check it out! So here it is..
Youth of Today was a straight edge hardcore punk band. Started out in 1985 and this is their first album. It's pretty damn good and I became a real big fan after listening to this. I do have their next two studio albums after this, if you guys like this, I will post those also. SO SPEAK UP!!! :)
I'm not sure what happened to this post but it's back again. This is Joy Division's first studio album and it's one of the best albums ever to be produced. Joy Division is by far my most favorite band out of any, so hopefully you guys enjoy this as much as I do and have.
Anti-Cimex is a Swedish based hardcore punk band. I don't really know much about them except they have a damn good sound. This album was released in 1990.
This is the first studio album by the Blood Brothers, released in 2000. It's way more hardcore based than their later sound; and when I say hardcore I mean true hardcore. They should have stuck to their origins but either way, they are one of my favorite bands for whatever reason. Enjoy this album because it is amazing!
The Chronic is Dr. Dre's first solo album after he left N.W.A due to financial disputes. This album has sold well over 300 million copies. It certainly is one of the most influential hip-hop albums to come out in the early 90's and is still regarded to be one of the best. Definitely check it out and get a feel for some real west coast style G-Funk Hip-Hop.
I'm really impressed with Past Lives. They spawned from the break up of the Blood Brothers. It consists of everyone except Johnny Whitney. It has a completely different sound than the Blood Brothers. Give it a listen, you'll be surprised.
